Maybe you are so used to practicing yoga with soothing music on the background, but there is so much to listen to when you practice yoga outside. The sound of ocean waves, noise of the leaves and the singing birds make all the difference. You will benefit more when you let yourself immerse in these sounds of nature.
Here are a few tips to help you while you do your yoga practice outdoors.
Choose the time wisely
The most important thing when it comes to time is knowing what suits you. There are those who like practicing in the early morning hours while others prefer the midday or in the evening. But, if you chose to practice when the sun is hot, you might want to consider wearing clothes that will prevent you from getting sunburnt. As for me, I prefer doing most of my yoga sessions in the morning when the sun isn’t hot. The awakening nature also gives me an additional portion of energy.
Master the balance poses
The uneven surface engages and strengthens the secondary muscles in the legs, feet and spine. Once you practice the balance asanas from outside, you will find it easier to do them on a flat surface. Use such an opportunity to take your standing and balancing poses to the next level.
Bring a towel or a yoga blanket
Yoga mats often bunch and fold on uneven surfaces. It’s better to take a towel or yoga blanket instead.
Now you can find yourself a suitable place for an outdoor yoga session, pack your water, blanket and sunscreen and enjoy the moments with nature. Be sure to have Fun!
